Immersion Tutorial Experience
The goal of B.E.T.A.’s Total Immersion Tutorial Program is to change your child's educational outlook by providing them with skills in order to be successful in the classroom. We also realize that psychological support and a strong sense of well-being will improve educational outcomes and performance. Unfortunately, in today’s society too many children experience repetitive failure because of unaddressed psychological and academic problems. This experience makes it difficult for them to perform in the classroom and benefit from the educational setting. They go through the school year feeling afraid to answer questions, struggling in school, performing below grade level, and developing anxiety surrounding the demands of the classroom. Many become unmotivated and develop various ways to avoid academic challenges.
B.E.T.A.’s Total Immersion Tutorial Service uses a unique teaching method that incorporates cognitive and academic instructional strategies within a comfortable environment. Since your child’s learning environment influences how they feel about themselves and their school experiences, here your child feels comfortable and eager to learn. If the learning environment is one that makes your child feel unsuccessful, then they will begin to display negative well as avoidant and anxious behaviors in the classroom. On the other hand, if the learning environment nurtures a sense of well-being that promotes academic success, then your child will not only participate but also attempt even more challenging educational tasks. Success will give your child confidence, so that anxiety will be minimized in the academic setting. Children become invested in the learning experience.
In addition to the learning environment, we will address how your child learns. Optimal learning is achieved when the environment is tailored to their individual learning styles. While some children learn best through the traditional visual presentation, others require other considerations such as multisensory approach, concrete visual cues, direct instruction, visual-perceptual and auditory processing accommodations in a highly structured environment. However, whether your child learns best by way of hearing, seeing, manipulating, writing, experiencing, or a combination of these experiences, we believe all children can learn.
